Getting Started
Lectures are available within 24 hours following the live class and remain online for three weeks. The lectures are password protected to limit access to students enrolled in the course. Passwords are available from your instructor.
Internet and software requirements
To view the video files you must have a broadband or high-speed Internet connection such as DSL, a corporate LAN, or a cable modem.
Windows users: You must have the latest version of Windows Media Player software installed on your computer. Click here to download the free player. Is your browser software up to date? Click here to make sure you have the latest version of Internet Explorer.
Mac users: Mac users should install Windows Media Components for QuickTime by Flip4Mac. Click here for the free download. Make sure your Web browser software is up to date. Click on the links for the latest versions of Safari or Mozilla Firefox.
To view streaming video
Click on the Stream link for the course and date of your class. Enter the user ID and password. The video files are large and may take some time to begin playing. If you experience delays of more than 10 to 15 minutes, please try again later. Long delays are due to heavy network traffic. If you have problems streaming your class, try the download link instead.
To download a video file
To save the file on your computer for viewing later, right click on the Download link for the course and date of your class. Depending on which browser you are using, you will select either "save target as" or "save link as" and enter your user ID and password. Mac users should right click and select "download linked file" or "save link as." A left click on the download link will only save the video file to temporary storage on your computer.
Video files are large (100 + Megabytes) and may take some time to download. If you experience wait times for more than 30 minutes, please try again later.
Adobe Connect
Your professor may use Adobe Connect for one or more of your class sessions. Click here for the most up-to-date flash player.
Producer files
To download a lecture click on the lecture you wish to download (You may have to right click and select "save target as").
Enter the user ID and password provided to you by your instructor. (If another field for domain shows up, leave it blank)
Click "Save". The file should begin downloading. Hint: Create a folder that you can easily find to put the downloaded file.
The file is compressed or "Zipped". WinZip is a basic application that is already installed on most PCs with MSWindows.
After you have downloaded the file un-zip it. Click on extract (or Un-Zip). Hint: Put the extracted files in the same folder you created earlier.
Open the lecture folder and click on the default file. You will see the Producer file open your browser.
Click on play.
